Excursion Etna and Aci Trezza

Sicily is a majestic land, where sea and mountains live in cohesion, allowing to reach and visit the coast and the volcanic landscape of Etna on the same day.

• We will begin our tour visiting the Etna, where we will analyze the changing of the landscape depending on the altitude; during the excursion we will admire the flora and fauna that characterizes the territory.
• We will reach an old shelter, at 1910 meters of altitude, tasting various typical products and km0, such as honey and different creams.
• We will go on the discovery of the oldest craters, dating back to 1892 and we will observe the lava flows.
• We will explore a characteristic cave of Etna, visiting the inside to admire its structure.
• We will taste the typical products of the territory, immerged in a peaceful picnic area in the Park of Etna.
• We will then head to Acitrezza, to take a boat ride (on a fishing boat), to admire the famous Cyclops Archipelago up close and visit his biggest island, Lachea Island, with the opportunity of swimming into the amazing waters of the protected marine area.
• Continuing with the boat tour, we will also observe the “Faraglioni di Ulisse”, born from the primordial submarine activity of Etna, with the guide’s explanation.
• We will analyze closely the basaltic formations, characterized by minerals and formed by ancient volcanoes that lie below the sea level.
